Under the Baobab tree

‘Under the Baobab tree’ was the 5th in the series of biennial conferences organised by the African HIV Policy Network (AHPN) on 27th and 28th March 2008. This was led by NAHIP as part of the AHPN’s sector development and facilitation programme.

As many villagers traditionally met under the Baobab tree to discuss local issues so did Africans and our supporters in the Diaspora meet to talk about:

'Gender – An integrated response to HIV.'

This conference brought together affected communities, providers, policy makers, researchers, commissioners and other stakeholders who shared good practice with in the HIV sector. It also offered an opportunity to discuss what still needs to be achieved in order to reduce the rates of HIV infection within African communities and improve the care and support offered to those already living with HIV.

The downloadable documents on the right include conference plenary presentations, papers and workshops.
