Do it Right - Africans Making Healthy Choices

Our new gender focused campaign focuses on a rights based approach-delivering information on the access to sexual health services.

Do you know…

  • That Africans make up 1% of the UK population and 34% of all people living with HIV in the UK?
  • That approx. 33% of African people in the UK living with HIV don’t know they have it?
  • That HIV testing is freely available in hospitals, sexual health clinics, and in some community settings in the UK?
  • That you can’t always tell if somebody has HIV or a sexually transmitted infection (STI)?
  • That treatment for STIs is free in the UK?
  • Where to get treatment?
  • That there is no cure for HIV but treatment is available in the UK?

Click here to learn about the new testing campaign developed as part of the Do it Right campaign.

The campaign website, www.doitright.uk.com, has a wealth of information ranging from where to access free and confidential HIV testing to accessing free condoms. On the campaign website you can watch and follow the life and experiences of Kobana stories raising awareness of how HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) can affect every family.
