Background
NAHIP works with predominantly African-led organisations to deliver HIV prevention interventions.
Funded by the Department of Health, NAHIP came under the management of the African HIV Policy Network in October 2001. Following the appointment of a Project Manager, an advisory group was set up to assist in the strategic management of the programme. The advisory group is made up of professionals from health promotion, research, policy, community groups, epidemiology and behavioural science.
NAHIP works with Partners to produce resources, carry out training and lead on campaigns. Members of the NAHIP Implementing Partnership are:

NAHIP also has a research partner - Sigma Research. The African Communities HIV Research Project examines the impact of different interventions and identifies sexual health needs within African communities.
